Namo Bharat RRTS Meerut Stations

As per the latest news from Navbharat Times, after a long wait, the people of Meerut are finally set to receive the gift of Rapid Rail and Metro services. From September 30, operations of the Namo Bharat Rapid Train and the Metro are expected to commence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will board the Rapid Train from Delhi and travel directly to Meerut, continuing his journey up to Modipuram. On his return, he will address a massive public rally at Shatabdi Nagar, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present.

Namo Bharat RRTS Meerut Stations Opening Date

In the upcoming launch, three Namo Bharat stations in Meerut — Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul, and Modipuram — are expected to open, along with one station in Delhi, Sarai Kale Khan.

According to the NCRTC, the Delhi–Meerut Rapid Rail Corridor, from Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram in Meerut, is now ready for operations. Only a high-level green signal is awaited. NCRTC’s MD, Shalabh Goyal, inspected the corridor from Meerut South to Modipuram on Monday to ensure there are no issues once the inauguration date is finalised. It is believed that the Delhi–Meerut Rapid Rail Project is a dream project of the Prime Minister and is being monitored directly by the PMO. Therefore, it is expected that the inauguration of Namo Bharat train operations on this corridor will be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The service is set to launch along the 82-kilometre corridor from Sarai Kale Khan (Delhi) to Modipuram (Meerut). While successful trial runs have already been conducted up to Meerut South, this time the entire corridor will be opened for public travel. According to Puneet Vats, Chief Public Relations Officer of NCRTC, work at most stations has been completed, with only final finishing touches pending. All essential formalities for operations are in place.

Meerut is also set to receive the gift of metro services along with the rapid rail. While the Namo Bharat service will operate for 82 km on the rapid rail corridor, Meerut Metro will run for 23 km. The simultaneous launch of both rapid rail and metro services will be a major milestone and a significant gift for the city.
