82 km long Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram Route Ready

Great news for daily commuters travelling between Delhi and Meerut! India’s new high-speed train, Namo Bharat, is now fully ready for operations on the 82 km stretch from Sarai Kale Khan to Modipuram. The CMRS (Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety) has granted final approval to NCRTC, and according to sources, the route will be inaugurated with a major public event. Once launched, the Delhi–Meerut journey will become significantly faster, smoother, and more comfortable.

Until now, passengers could only travel between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South, but with the entire corridor ready, all stations are now equipped with complete passenger amenities.

Train Every 10 Minutes

Initially, Namo Bharat trains were operating at an interval of 15 minutes between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South. However, due to rising passenger demand, the frequency has been increased, and trains will now be available every 10 minutes.

Officials also indicated that the interval may be further reduced or extended depending on commuter load. Adjustments to early-morning and late-night operations are also under review to enhance overall convenience.

Sarai Kale Khan to Become a Major Transport Hub

Sarai Kale Khan is set to become the largest hub of the Namo Bharat network. The station features:

  • 6 platforms
  • 4 tracks
  • Direct connectivity with Delhi Metro, Indian Railways, and the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT).

To improve passenger experience, the station is equipped with escalators, lifts, travellators, and dedicated bus, cab, and auto services at the concourse level

Fast, Safe and Hassle-Free Travel Experience

With Namo Bharat, passengers can now travel without traffic jams while enjoying a high-speed, secure, and comfortable journey. Separate waiting areas have been created for general and premium passengers, offering a refined travel experience.

In the future, the Namo Bharat network will expand further with planned extensions to Delhi–Karnal and Delhi–Alwar. Final safety checks, signalling tests, and passenger-facility inspections are currently underway.
