National Capital Region Transport Corporation

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is a joint venture between the Government of India and the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi. It is the implementing agency for RAPIDX, the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project aimed at enhancing regional connectivity across the NCR.

The formation of NCRTC was approved by the Union Cabinet in July 2013 under the Companies Act, 1956. The corporation was officially incorporated on 21 August 2013. In July 2016, Mr. Vinay Kumar Singh was appointed as its first Managing Director, marking a significant milestone in the organisation’s leadership and development.

Capital Structure of NCRTC– The seed capital of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is equally shared between the Government of India and the participating state governments, with each contributing 50%. The Government of India’s share is further divided among three key entities: the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (22.5%), the Ministry of Railways (22.5%), and the National Capital Region Planning Board (5%). The remaining 50% is equally distributed among the four participating states—Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana, with each state contributing 12.5%.

The Delhi–Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor, part of India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), spans a total length of 82.15 kilometers and connects key urban centers across the National Capital Region. The corridor features a mix of elevated, underground, and at-grade stations, strategically designed to ensure high-speed, high-frequency connectivity.

It begins at Jangpura in Delhi and moves through important stops such as Sarai Kale Khan, New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar, and Sahibabad, extending through Ghaziabad, Modinagar, and Meerut, before culminating at Modipuram (Elevated). The line includes 16 stations, such as Duhai Depot (At-grade) and Begumpul (Underground), and is engineered to significantly reduce travel time, ease traffic congestion, and provide a safe, comfortable, and sustainable mode of transport for daily commuters across the region.

Use the Namo Bharat Connect App.
Steps to book via app:

1. Download the Namo Bharat Connect App.
2. Tap “Plan Your Journey” and select Namo Bharat.
3. Choose your destination.
4. Select class (Standard or Premium).
5. Choose the number of passengers (up to 6).
6. Confirm and make payment via available options.

✅ Offline Ticket Booking:

1. Ticket Counters at all Namo Bharat stations – Pay via cash/card/UPI and get a printed ticket or smart card.
2. Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) at stations – Use the machine to select journey details, pay, and collect your ticket.

💳 Smart Card Option:

You can also use the Namo Bharat Prepaid Card (like a Metro Smart Card). It allows contactless check-in/check-out and can be recharged online or at stations. No separate ticket needed when using this card.
