NCRTC Opens New Foot Over Bridge Connecting New Ashok Nagar RRTS and Metro

Commuters at New Ashok Nagar have received a major connectivity upgrade with the opening of a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB) linking the New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat (RRTS) Station and the Delhi Metro Station. The two stations, located just 100 meters apart, are now directly connected through this 90-meter-long bridge, providing a safe, quick, and convenient passage for passengers.

New Ashok Nagar FOB Opens for Seamless RRTS–Metro Connectivity

With the bridge now operational, travelers will walk nearly 210 meters less than before, saving both time and effort. The FOB connects the concourse level of the metro station to the level below the concourse of the RRTS station, ensuring smooth interchange between the two modes of transport.

To further enhance accessibility, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is constructing two additional FOBs at the station. One will link the Chilla Village and Mayur Vihar Extension areas to the RRTS station, while the other will be built near the Ancient Shiv Temple to provide easier access for residents of New Ashok Nagar.

The New Ashok Nagar RRTS Station, owned by NCRTC, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 5, 2025, alongside the Anand Vihar RRTS Station. Designed for high-speed operations, rapid trains at this station can run at speeds of up to 180 km/h.

For a more enhanced passenger experience, the station features an extended concourse area below the viaduct, which includes shops and commuter facilities, making the transit experience more comfortable and efficient. The integration of the RRTS and Delhi Metro networks at New Ashok Nagar marks a significant step forward in improving multimodal connectivity across Delhi–NCR.
