Namo Bharat to Run from Ghaziabad via Greater Noida West to Jewar Airport, 72 km Corridor with 22 Stations Approved

The final alignment of the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail corridor connecting Ghaziabad to Noida International Airport (Jewar) has been approved. The ambitious project, costing ₹20,360 crore, will span 72.44 kilometers and connect key NCR regions through 22 stations, covering Greater Noida West, Surajpur, and Kasna.

A standout feature of this corridor is the shared track system between Four Murti Chowk and Knowledge Park-5, where Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and Aqua Line Metro will operate on the same track. Once completed within the next five years, this project is set to redefine airport connectivity across NCR.

Major Relief for NCR Commuters

For residents of NCR who struggle daily with traffic congestion and long travel hours, this project brings significant relief. The Ghaziabad–Jewar Airport Namo Bharat corridor is not just another rail line—it is a high-tech mobility backbone designed to seamlessly connect Greater Noida West, Surajpur, and Kasna with global destinations via the upcoming international airport.

Within five years, this corridor will drastically reduce travel time to Jewar Airport and also improve connectivity between Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram, making intercity movement faster and more efficient.

Government Approval and Planning Framework

The route and station layout were finalised during a joint meeting of officials from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The project proposal has been forwarded to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, which will approve the final financial model.

₹20,360 Crore Investment with a 5-Year Timeline

The estimated project cost stands at ₹20,360.25 crore. Following final clearance from the ministry, construction is expected to begin, with a five-year completion target from the start of execution.

72.44 km Long Corridor with 22 Stations

The corridor will originate from Siddharth Vihar in Ghaziabad and extend up to Noida International Airport (Jewar), covering a total distance of 72.44 km.

  • Total Stations: 22
  • Rapid Rail Stations: 11
  • Metro Stations: 11
  • Underground Section: 1.1 km inside the airport premises

Additionally, a 14.2 km Light Rail Transit (LRT) stretch from Film City to the airport will also be integrated into the project.

Surajpur to Emerge as a Major Transit Hub

Surajpur will be developed as a key interchange junction on this route. It will connect future corridors linking Gurugram, Faridabad, and Noida. This strategic integration will allow passengers to travel seamlessly between IGI Airport and Noida International Airport, significantly improving regional and national connectivity.

Aqua Line Metro and Namo Bharat on a Shared Track

One of the most cost-efficient innovations in this project is the shared corridor between Four Murti Chowk and Knowledge Park-5.

  • Shared Length: 10 km
  • Number of Stations: 6

Both Aqua Line Metro and Namo Bharat Rapid Rail will use the same track and stations on this stretch, ensuring optimal infrastructure utilization and substantial cost savings.

Areas That Will Benefit

The corridor will pass through:

  • Siddharth Vihar (Ghaziabad)
  • Greater Noida West
  • Knowledge Park-5
  • Kasna
  • Surajpur
  • YEIDA region

This will provide direct, high-speed airport connectivity to lakhs of residents across Ghaziabad, Noida West, and Greater Noida, transforming daily commuting and long-distance travel.
