RELATED FAQS

  1. What is the difference between standard and premium in the Namo Bharat train?

The Namo Bharat train offers two types of coaches—Standard and Premium—each designed to cater to different passenger needs and comfort levels.

The Standard Coach is more economical, with ticket fares starting from ₹20. It has 72 seats and provides essential travel facilities. Passengers can access mobile charging points using data cables, CCTV surveillance, LED information screens displaying time, speed, and upcoming stations, and reserved seating for women. An attendant is available on call in case of emergencies. However, standard coaches do not include advanced features such as dynamic route maps, coat hangers, food vending machines, or lounge access.

The Premium Coach, priced at approximately 1.2 times the standard fare, offers enhanced comfort and services. It has 62 seats, ensuring more spacious seating. In addition to all standard facilities, premium coaches are equipped with dynamic route maps, coat hangers, food vending machines, magazine and water bottle holders, and both mobile and laptop charging points. A dedicated attendant is deployed full-time in the premium coach, and passengers also have access to a lounge facility, which is not available to standard coach travellers.

In summary, the standard coach is suitable for budget-friendly travel with basic amenities, while the premium coach provides a more comfortable, feature-rich, and premium travel experience.
