In a major step towards enhancing commuter convenience, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uber to provide app-based last-mile connectivity services along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor.
Availability of Uber Services
Under this partnership, Uber’s range of mobility services—including cabs, autos, and two-wheelers—will be available across all operational Namo Bharat stations from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South.
- As new sections become operational, these services will extend to all stations.
- Dedicated pickup and drop-off points have been set up at stations, with directional signage for commuter guidance.
- Uber may also roll out special discounts for Namo Bharat commuters in the coming days.
Leaders Speak on the Partnership
NCRTC’s View
Shri Shalabh Goel, Managing Director, NCRTC, said:
“This partnership with Uber is another important step towards strengthening last-mile connectivity along the Namo Bharat Corridor, offering commuters a convenient and integrated travel experience. It aims to enhance the modal shift towards public transportation, and in turn help enable significant reduction in vehicular congestion and air pollution in the region.”
Uber’s View
Mr. Manish Bindrani, Head of Supply, Uber India & South Asia, added:
“We are proud to support one of India’s most ambitious transit projects. By enabling integrated last-mile mobility, we’re advancing shared transportation, reducing reliance on private vehicles and helping cities meet climate and traffic congestion goals. Our aim is to make it easy for every Namo Bharat rider to complete their journey end to end—whether heading to an office in Delhi or a home in Meerut.”
Enhanced Commuter Experience
Commuters will benefit from:
- App-based wayfinding
- Real-time information
- Integration of Uber visibility within Namo Bharat trains and stations
This will ensure a smoother and more comfortable journey for thousands of daily riders.
NCRTC’s Ongoing Efforts in First/Last-Mile Connectivity
NCRTC has been consistently working to improve connectivity:
- Rapido services are already operating at several Ghaziabad stations.
- Electric buses under the DEVI Scheme (Delhi Electric Vehicle Interchange) have been integrated with Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar stations.
- With Uber’s addition, commuters will now enjoy seamless and reliable onward travel options.
Once fully operational, the Namo Bharat corridor will reduce travel time between Delhi and Meerut to one-third, revolutionizing the region’s mobility and transforming daily commutes.
